It is a very significant natural phenomenon, as it significantly affects the lives of people, organisms and the development of vegetation. The bora comes from the mainland and blows, crossing the hills and slopes of the mountain range, mostly in the direction of the sea. It blows usually with great, sometimes hurricane force, especially where the mountains stretch near the coast. The storm can last for several days. The speed of the air current in the gusts of a stronger bora occasionally exceeds 72 km / h, and sometimes exceeds 180 km / h.
